KEEP LA HOUSED IS A COALITION OF TENANTS, COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS, AND PUBLIC INTEREST LAWYERS WITH THE GOAL OF ENACTING A TENANT BILL OF RIGHTS IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND ITS 89 JURISDICTIONS.
What’s Going on With Tenant Rights in L.A.?
Thanks to advocacy from community members like you, we have built a robust movement that has won significant protections in our Tenant Bill of Rights in both LA County and City. You can learn more about these victories here.
While we've made progress, we still have a lot of work to do to make sure our neighbors can stay housed. Right now, in the City of LA we are fighting for:
Implementation of the newly strengthened Los Angeles Rent Stabilization Ordinance (LARSO), to keep rent increases stable and fair in the city of LA
Read about our recent victory to strengthen LARSO here.
Enforcement of the updated Tenant Anti-Harassment Ordinance (TAHO), which we passed at the end of 2024
Strengthening code enforcement through the Systematic Code Enforcement Program (SCEP) and the Rent Escrow Account Program (REAP)
If you believe in stabilizing rents, preventing landlord harassment, maintaining healthy and safe housing, and more, we need your support! Please use your voice and tell your Council member that you support strong tenant protections.
